is it nessesary to change the cam pulley to a adjustable one when changing the cam? i have a stage 2 cam i want to put in. i was told that when i ordered it i would not have to change anything but the followers. that everything i have now would work with this cam. i am putting it in a 2.0.

You don't have to have an adjustable pulley. It's just handy for degreeing the cam in. There is however, a bit of science to installing
a cam in a ford ohc. The geometry must be right to center the contact patch on the followers. Are you aware the cam slides out the
back on a 2.0, so you either pull the head or the engine? You might want a new set of valve springs too. Is this the racer walsh

You don't have to pull the head, if you are willing to drill a 3" hole in the firewall behind the radio... :)
When I was a budding, young tech at a local Ford dealer, my mentor told me about that trick. Of course, at that time, Pintos had been out of production for over 10 years... 8)
no it is not the racer walsh cam. i got it from crower cams. they told me that i could use everything i have but recommended i change the followers. i was planning on removing the engine to do this. no i don't want to drill any holes.

First off, question everything Crower tells you when it comes to a 2.0L I went round and round with them over the stage 3 cam I installed in my 2.0L, If I was you, I'd order a set of followers and FT 415 springs from Burton Power, yes they are an over seas company, but you'll have the parts in 4-5 days, they will work, and the overall price will be cheaper then buying just followers here in the states.
As a side note Burton Power really knows the 2.0 EAO and really has a lot of options, also I think Cosworth might still be in the game.....After all in Europe the 2.0 is still known as the PINTO motor....In the U.K. and other countries...
The twin cam still makes me want one so bad......Crower knows V-8 not our in line fours....
Pretty sure Crower has been grinding sticks for Esslinger for years... you'd think a little knowledge would rub off! :)
Your right, they have been grinding cams for these engines for years, only problem is they have discontinued making the correct valve springs, and Followers, (they will sell you springs that are way over kill and will destroy your cam, followers and bearings) and the people that knew about these engines are gone from Crower, so you end up talking to someone that has NO clue, I have a set of springs they sold me, how's 147lbs on the seat, and 280 lbs sound at 1.4" installed height. that's only 100lbs more then I needed.. although they would work fine on a roller cam engine that is expected to turn 10,000 rpm's

any time you change a camshaft you should err on the side of caution and use new followers also
The Crower stage 2 will work fine with the standard followers, just buy the standard Phosphated followers, Part Number: FT1010PH, and keep in mind the exchange rate is 1.6 so whatever your cost is at checkout times that by 1.6
