Need some help, will the twin carbs work with my auto trans. if so how do you hook up the passing gear?
John it's going to be hard using the stock parts, I ran into the same thing with my intake, I'm going to buy an aftermarket cable set-up.
Tell me should I stick with the 2X1 or go with a four bbl, set up? Sorta after looks for now.
I have a offenhauser 4 brl intake with 400 cfm holly on mine now and it looks killer as the carb looks so big in relation to the engine and my passing gear works fine.
Here is a pic (rather crappy one I.M.O.) of my engine bay. Inside is an Offenhauser stepped intake, a Holley 390 CFM 4 barrel, and a 1" spacer. I had to run the smaller air cleaner to clear the hood (I didn't want to cut a hole or run a scoop).

I am running the factory 4-speed with 3.00's in the 8" rear end, and I have no issues. The cam thats in it is a little wild, but it runs great, and has plenty of power in the higher RPM's where the power-band is.
John, the Pony Ram will be cool looking, as stated the Offy split runner 4V manifold will work with your existing passing gear setup, but you limited on what carb you can run (or so I've been told I have not tried it yet)
Ok my garage is turning into a aftermarket Pinto parts house. Just purchased a 2.0 ederbrock 4 bbl intake, waiting on a guy to get back
with me on a sperco for the 2.0. 2.3 ederbrock 4bbl intake for the 2.3 sitting on the floor and looking forward to getting another 2.0 complete motor.
Anyways now I need a 390 holly #6299 or how about the 400 cfm that's mentioned above, does it work well.
One of theses day I might just build something to make the 2.0 scream? Who knows.

If this is a Spearco manifold & reasonably priced, I would buy it and keep it for posterity! Rare piece
