Dose any one have any directions on how to change out inner tie rods on a 77 cruizer wagon. LIke if there are special tools or is it some thing that can be done at home.
Thanx
Mike
I was going to change them on my 78 Sedan but couldn't locate them. I have a manual rack though, you may have power steering and they are different.
There is a special socket that goes in the end of the rack far enough to get the tie rod nut, but I haven't located it. I know parts stores that had tool rentals had it available at one time though. Might want to call around.
The correct inner tie rods are Moog EV117 for power racks '74-up & Moog EV102 for manual racks. The EV102's are discontinued but Ebay always has some.
I just had an inner tie rod replaced on my 78 wagon with ps. I dont think the guy used any special wrench or anything, but it gave him a fit for a while trying to get the new one to thread on.
I think there is a pin you need to drill out...I'll check my Ford Manual tomorrow....

That roll pin is hardened steel, just tap it out with a pin punch.
