Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 1980 Pinto? I mainly need the ignition diagram.
I just bought one, I can try to get some photos of the page for you tomorrow.
Do you have any way to scan them?
Not at the moment. I can assure you the photos will be readable. I'd like to scan the whole thing at some point though.
Kool...I greatly appreciate it. I'm cleaning up the wiring under the hood and plan on removing what i don't need. Mainly all the Duraspark stuff is coming out but I don't want to chop out something I need lol.

You should be able to see the file list, I put up pages 10-17 as they seemed relevant to what you want. If you need any other pages let me know. I'm gonna stop by my school library sometime and use the book scanner on the entire manual. 69 pages plus the table of contents.
That helps on the Duraspark but I have a mass of wires that I need to remove. Something that just crossed my mind was that this is a California emissions car...lots of crap under the hood. I know what wires take care of the headlights and such so I may just find a good hotwire in that mess and use it for my MSD and cut everything else out other than the wires for the dummy lights on the cluster.
There's 2 pages on the Microprocessor Control Unit for the Cali emissions cars. Looks like the wiring for it runs all over the place. Want those too?
YES PLEASE!!!!! Thanks
Reload the link and you should see pages 66 and 67 in there.
I greatly appreciate the pics John. That microprocessor diagram is what I needed. At least now I know what I'm cutting out and your right...those wires are everywhere. I wont have to emission test this car so I can do whatever I want with it.
I'm really glad my car isn't from Cali. I'm trying to eliminate vacuum lines and wiring that I don't need. No emissions here so I'm also about to pull out the cat.
Mine has a 289 in it and since we can insure them as classics that gets me out of emissions.
There's no emissions testing here in New Hampshire on anything before 96, so I'm lucky. There's an original equipment clause but nobody is going to check to see if the cat is still installed for example.
I've got a california emissions car, my 78 Sedan. It was purchased here in Emmett Idaho though. I've slowly been doing away with emissions parts as they fail, though. No emissions checks for cars older than 1981 here in Ada county. At least for the next 9 years. Then they will measure the effect of the current policy in place and it could change, hopefully not though.
Well anything California emissions related stuff is gone. Pulled the module from under the dash and removed that wiring as well.
