I want to keep my car as stock as possible. However, I can't help but think white walls would make it look better.
Any opinions?
Anyone know if white walls were an option?
Thanks, members!
yes white walls were the style black wall were the option or raised white letters.
I agree with Phil... The only thing is that they are getting harder & harder to find in any type, let alone whitewall. Unless you can find them at a very reasonable price I would leave the blackwalls on the car if they are not dry rotted or just plain worn out.
See what a friend of ours did to his Pinto using wide white walls, 14 inch rims, and old hub caps.

I tease him saying he has the only 50's Pinto.
I don't recommend that for Beicholz's squire. But regular whitewalls would work with the woodgrain giving it a nice period correct feel.
Wow...not my cup of tea...but it looks pretty cool. Yes, I want stock / period correct. Anyone need 4 good tires? Seems a waste to just let the mechanic keep 'em. They look barely worn.
Having determined that white walls were indeed on '73's, any ideas on where I can get them? Anyone want 4 perfectly good, nearly new radials that fit stock Pinto wheels?
try Tirerack or your local tire place
Below are some pictures of my '73 sporting her new whitewalls. I've put $2K into her to replace everything that needed replacing...from brakes, to shocks, to suspension parts, to muffler to hoses, on and on.
She's ready for anything now! Many thanks to all the members who gave me advice along the way...most recently Pinturbo75, who turned me on to what seems to be the last place to buy R13 whitewalls (http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=135&Cookie=nextag&details=Ordern&typ=D-105274&ranzahl=4&nichtweiter=1 (http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=135&Cookie=nextag&details=Ordern&typ=D-105274&ranzahl=4&nichtweiter=1)). If you want whitewalls, I'd buy them NOW. When these are gone, who knows if or when they will be available again?
Thanks, everyone!!

Those look awesome! Nice car btw. Mike
I agree............. your car looks great, just like it rolled off a dealers floor in 1973. Drive it and enjoy it. :) :)
Thanks, guys! I'm waiting for one more item: the Window sticker....should have it within days from Marti. Can't wait!
This car will definitely get driven...not a trailer queen...though I will keep her out of the hot, dry, CA summers and the rain.
My mechanic told me people came in all day from off the street to look at the car. "Everyone has a Pinto story" is absolutely the truth!
HUGE improvement! Nothing looks quite as right on a Pinto Squire as whitewall tires!
Dwayne :)
Yes, Squires need white walls. With the help of Photoshop, here is Sweet Pea with black walls and with white walls.

Now I'm a bit concerned about how long ww's will remain available.
Amazing difference, Robert!
Bob, the whitewalls look great on your Squire! ;D
If you're looking to get rid of her other tires, I'll take them off your hands. My green '73 needs hers all replaced. ;)
Looks great! Not only will the wagon be a blast but it is so functional.
