First, I apologize if this has been covered. I'm still new and haven't read everything yet.
Years ago, I had a white '72 Pinto runabout with a green vinal top, green trim along the bottom of the car (I think), and green interior. I also remember seeing a white with orange example. Was that a sub model, an option, or somebody's alterations?
Thanks
That was an option... it was called the Sport Accent Package, I think (I'm at work and don't have access to my Ford sales literature). Could possibly be "sports" instead of "sport" and/or "group" instead of "package". I used to sell cars in a Lincoln-Mercury dealership and the nomenclature varied a bit among the Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury lines.
As for sub models, probably the Cruisin' Wagon would come closest to being one. There were also Sprints, Squires, Rallyes. etc.; the list goes on and on, but it's questionable whether they'd be considered actual sub models or not. The three basic offerings were, of course, the sedan, the runabout, and the wagon.

You are correct!
Per your direction, I looked up the "Sports Accent Group." I found it on http://www.fordpinto.com/index.php?page=134 (http://www.fordpinto.com/index.php?page=134). And that's exactly what my old car looked like.
Thanks for the pointer!!!
