Do you have power? I would check the battery with a  volt meter & see what kind of voltage it has. An easy test is to turn on the headlights & see how bright they are. Also with the headlights on try to start the car. Do they go dimm when you turn the key? Does the car click? Both could give an idea as to what is wrong. If the car does not click remove the "s" terminal lead from the starter solenoid & try to jump across the s terminal to the positive terminal on the solenoid. If the car cranks then it could be a couple different issues. Possibly bad solenoid, ignition switch, or as I have recently found out, neutral safety switch.

Check the wires that go to the voltage regulator, I had a open wire that caused the alternator not to charge the battery. Check the wiring to the starter solenoid as well. The fusable links can also fail due to heat ,age etc..One more thing to look at is the wires that go to the small terminal on the starter solenoid may be the problem, if the wiring connector (THE ELBOW) is worn it will not let the key switch turn the car over. Change the elbow for two crimp on ring terminals and an other nut to the solenoid and that should do it... I have fixed more than one old Ford that way....The elbow connector is a slip on terminal with two wires that go to the key switch if that fails the car will not turn over but the lights will work etc....

It won't turn over? OR, it turns over but it won't start?
