I just removed the 2.8 V6 and auto trans from a 78 Pinto wagon, and I plan to put in a 2.3L and 4 speed from a donor 78 hatchback. I can see that the piece that attaches to the engine blocks are different; the rubber insulators look to be the same- confirmed at rockauto dot com.
The question is: are the motor brackets that attach to the body the same for a 2.3 and V6?
thanks!
mike
I would like to know because someone wants to buy the body engine brackets from the V-6 car, but I thought that they are the same. By eye they look identical.
thanks,
mike
They are the same if you haven't found out... Alternator wiring is on opposite side between those two as well.
Fast34, Thanks for the reply! No point in removing them if they are the same, just a waste of time and effort! I noticed the alternator wiring, but electrical work is my specialty, so no problem there. I knew that someone would answer my question eventually.
thanks again!
