I have a 2.0 4bbl,9 to1 comp. cam, headers, MSD, etc etc. It has a 160 degree thermostat and runs at about 170 on the gauge, I am beginning to think it needs to be a little hotter. In the 70's they said colder was better not sure if that is still true thses days. Especially with todays fuel. Think I should go to 195 or split the difference at 180?
I run a 195 in my 73 wagon. Seems to drive okay. I can't really say for sure since I barely ever get to drive the thing with all of it's drive-train problems. :( :( :(
I run a 180 in mine with an electric fan that kicks in at 190. Mine is a 2.3 though
