Title: OEM type mufflers
Post by: shotgun494 on August 06, 2011, 12:02:41 AM
We've got  1977 Pinto with 50,000 original miles, and were restoring it. The car has been in storage for the last 28 years. We basically pulled it out through gas and a battery in it and drove it.  Now to the problem, the exhaust pipes are solid but the Muffler has had it. I've called every parts outfit around and i mean every parts house here in the northeast, and no one can even come up with a listing for it no less a number. Does anyone have a Walker or similar OEM muffler part number. Its a 77 with tthe 2.3 and a stick. Any help would be appreciated.

My dad had the one on my 78 Sedan replaced in the late 80 with a new Ford unit. I know I have the receipt around here somewhere, I will see what I can dig up.

great i appreciate it. Maybe they can cross the ford number.  I know walker must make something, i was hoping someone had replaced one recently. Thanks Jim
