As many of you know, I am planning on listing my beloved Pinto soon on EBAY Classifieds and here. I have my eye on a Squire. I already have a pending offer, from the original owner's family. That said, this offer may or may not come through.
I would be very interested in knowing what folks think I should ask and what I should get. This is not a "fire sale", but also I do not want it to go on for 2 months. Specs and pics below. Thanks members! This will soon be in the classifieds.
CA Survivor: V6, Luxury Decor Group, Auto, A/C (works, needs freon), original radio, 42K miles, Factory Mags, P/S, P/B, new tires, new vinyl top, everything works! Paint is like new original (there are a couple of minor scratches and one very, very small dent that can be easily fixed). Interior is stellar. Most engine components replaced, except engine itself, which is perfect. NO RUST - CA car. Includes window sticker (Marti), original manual, original brochure, ad collection.

Damn i wish i had money.... lol she would be here right now =D Id give alteast 6 if i had it. honestly. looks so good. Good luck man.. i honestly hope you get 5K or better
Thanks! The original family that owned it may buy it. If not, I'd certainly give a killer price to anyone in the club...just to know it's in good hands...
Your car is beautiful, however the Pinto market may not support +$5K pricing.
Here is a Pinto with under 6,000 original miles and it is having trouble breaking $5K.

That '79 is nice, but Bob's is nicer- WAY nicer, in my opinion... but I admit I'm biased towards the earlier style and vinyl roofs. ::)
Bob, if I could afford it (damn smog laws!!!) and could garage it I would snap it up in a heartbeat. Yours and Louise's '76s are just plain gorgeous!
Yep, I think his Pinto is much nicer than the low mileage Pinto. I like all the details along with the rear hatch and wheels.
It has a great look!
I just did not want him to be dissappointed later if the pricing was not strong when he went to sell it.
I got ya... money is tight, and no one (especially in Cali) wants to pay a lot of $$$ for something that needs to be smogged. Naturally I would love for Bob to keep this one AND get an eye-popping dream of a Squire too. Well... just remember my motto... (see below). ;D
Thanks for the nice comments, all. Frankly, I don't care that much about the price. A new car loses $5,000 or more when you drive it off the lot. What's a few thousand loss on a car that I really enjoyed for almost 2 years?
Regarding smog, it's a myth that it's a big issue. It's cheap. And my car passed on the first try, emiting only a tiny, tiny fracton of the allowable amounts.
Keep in mind too: Later model Pintos are more likely to have the factory exploding fuel tank fix (mine does).
Bob is right about the smog test being a non-issue. I bought my 76 out-of-state so if it failed the smog test it was going to be my problem to fix it. And the way it was running I was a little worried but it passed with flying colors. And if someone in state was to buy the car they would just have the seller get it smogged first. Like I did with my 78.
That is a nice car Bob. Let me know if you do decide to sell it. Altho, I need another white/blue interior pinto like a turtle needs disc brakes.
