A short drive from where I am, and right down the road from where I will be tomorrow morning!
Pretty good deal if your looking to that swap.
Be prepared to chop fenders with those.
I'll be doing a 289 or 302. 351W is to big, won't allow stock hood. I suppose the 302 wouldn't either, but with a bit of cross member modification I think it may.
Get a Mustang II oil pan (and or 302) and you won't have to modify the crossmember. It will work under the stock hood.
Ahh, so THATS why the MII pan is wanted for the V8 swaps!
One question while on this topic...Even with one of those "regular" 302 pans like the "Mustang II compatible" one similar to this:

When using one of those, I would think the hood would have to be cut for a scoop. If so, how tall of a scoop would one have to install to cover up the air cleaner?
Norm, I like how your shaker scoop is low profile and not extreme, it keeps the appearance of the Pinto sleek but gives it the wolf in fierce-sheep's clothing look. If I do a hood scoop I would like it to be low profile like the shaker on your car is, but I know how rare those are, and expensive.
Hey Dave, I'm right in the middle of putting my 289 out of my drag car in my squire right at the moment. I'm taking pics of this that and everything else and putting them on my Photobucket. If you can find a complete Mustang II with the 302 would save a lot of time and trouble locating parts. My drag car was already setup so it's just a matter of swapping everything. Here is the link to my Photobucket. http://s989.photobucket.com/albums/af17/RSM1961/Pinto%20Wagon%20Build/
