It should if you change the bell housing . Also the Four Speeds came in alot of Fords with the 2.3. 1979 and up Mustangs with a 2.3 are going to be the most common but double check to see what size input shaft is in the car. Go to Autozone.com and look up a clutch set up, this is pretty easy and that will tell you what size the shaft is. As for a five speed again your going to change the bell housing but I do not know if a T-9 or T-5 will fit. However the 2.0 EAO Pinto motor was used in the U.K. for many different Fords over the years (Ford  Sierra RS500) etc so you might check ebay UK for the bell housing and other hot rod parts....Turbo heads and Cosworth Twin Cam Motors etc....

thank you, but why would i have to change the bell housing? aren't they the same bolt pattern? or is it the top two bolt holes that are different? i know that some are closer then others. or are you talking about the four that bolt the trans to the housing that are different? i do realize that if i go 5spd i will have to change bells and other things.
thanks for all the input, i quess i have more research to do
