Well I have a doodlebug with a pinto motor and trans. That is what i am told. I don't know the year. Major problem finding parts. I know that the needs rebuilt and have people to rebuild it just can't get the kit with knowing the year. The carb that is on it is a 2bbl. Where on the block is the number? Found one on passenger side but those #'s don't seem to match when I go to parts store.
Take a picture of the engine and post it here. Chances are, someone will know by looking at the motor and at least get an idea of what carb it might be (what year that carb was put on the engine). ;D
Is it a 1.6 a 2.0 or a 2.3......If it's a 2.3 than it has a 5200 series carb and it was used from 1974 to 1977. The rebuild kit is pretty much the same. The only difference is how the choke works, one uses water from the coolant system to heat the choke and the other uses is an electric element. So for a dune buggy it should not matter. Just take the carb in to the parts store and they should know what kind it is.....Try NAPA.
