Time to bolt in transmission and guess what? Missing a part. The arrow points to the trans mount I'm missing (looked everywhere...it's still hiding from me). I may have given it away back when I was going to use a T-5. Now I'm back to the Hummer-based dogbox. I found this photo online which shows the steel mount between the rear housing and the rubber mount. The steel piece is what I'm missing. See my post on parts wanted, and if you think you can help, please contact me. Thanks.
I have one in storage but getting into it is the issue. It could be a month or two before I delve back into that mess. I will keep tabs on this thread. If you can't find one in a couple months I will jump in there and find it. I need to find some door bright work for Matt while I am in there (which seems to have gone missing, it's somewhere in there).
Thanks, Dave. Please do keep tabs on this thread. I hope that one will turn up sooner, though.
I would love to help out now, but with storage in Boise, and me living in Meridian, not to mention that getting to the engine/transmission stuff in the back requires emptying the entire unit, makes it a very time consuming task which I can't do right now. :(
No worries, Dave. I might find another by then, but will keep you posted.
Hey, I saw in another post that you're looking for an alternator bracket. I might have what you are looking for. I had a vintage Trans Am Pinto a few years back, and when I sold it, the new owner didn't want the spares. There was a whole box of alternator brackets (brand new) that were not the passenger side brackets. These have a very long adjustment slot in the arm, and the arm is actually hinged. Does this sound like what you're looking for the driver side bracket? If so, I'll send one to you right away.
Paul
Got it. Thanks to Dave, Chester, and Joe for all the help locating one.
Not a problem! Always glad to help a fellow Pinto owner! :)
