Title: 2.3 fuel Pump
Post by: flash041 on June 27, 2011, 04:21:46 PM
I just got a 79 2.3 Pinto going for a new Pinto friend I met a local car show yesterday. Its a rustfree Arizona car he just bought. He put an electric fuel pump in in because the lobe that runs the fuelfump was wore down. First is the shaft availlable new? Second the car would not run with the new inline regulator he bought. It had a 6psi max.The fuel would only dribble out. I took the regulator off and the car ran. What should the psi be for an electric fuel pump? is an inline regulator nesasary? Right now he has a manual switch to turn the pump on and off.If he stays electric, what is the best way to set it up?
