Title: Fuel line clamp
Post by: D.R.Ball on June 18, 2011, 06:53:40 PM
Hey, just one more thing to look at on your Pinto, the forward hard fuel lines that run by the oil pan has a clamp bolted to the engine. Check to see if it has cover or plastic spacer to cover it and keep it from damaging the fuel lines. If it does not have any plastic you might want to put some rubber or high temp plastic between the fuel lines and the clamp. Why you may ask because in time the clamp will wear a hole into both fuel lines causing leaks that are hard to spot and fix....IE you will spend time replacing the soft lines and not see the true cause of the leak of which is hidden by the clamp...I just spent 2 hours replacing both lines so let's be careful out there....
