I recently received the following email:
My name is Kevin Malling and I am Executive Producer at ACME Digital Content in Long Beach, CA. My company makes 3D models of automobiles for use in TV commercials and video games. One of our video game clients has asked us to make a 3D model of the Ford Pinto Runabout for use in their next game.
I would like to speak with you about whether we might be able to use your car as reference for the 3D model in the game.
I exchanged several emails with Mr. Malling and discovered that what they are looking for is a 1971 which is as close to bone-stock as possible. They are planning to do 3D models of the exterior, interior and engine compartment and my '72 with its rollcage and V8 swap isn't, strictly speaking, what would be considered "stock". Oh. And it's not a '71
So...how 'bout it? Anybody in SoCal want their baby to be in a video game?
I have a '76 that looks brand new and was in the Fabulous Fords show representing '76.
Aside from wheels and air cleaner which I can change back, I've got one:

Pintopower, I'm going to forward your email address to him. I suspect he'll get in contact with you next week. Yours looks to be pretty much exactly what they're looking for.
Any idea what developer or video game?
He was....non-specific about that. The website for his company doesn't name any companies by name...but features some nice work, nonetheless.
LOL I have a '71 (she might be famous already! lol!) bone-stock, but she's not a runabout. She is RedHot, though... ;)
bluepinto-I'm not sure if they know that there's more than one model of non-station wagon Pinto, but I could forward your info to them just in case, if you like.
My vote is for Ruby, she won three awards at carlisle and traveled all the way across the country and back. Go with bluepinto. Bone stock, the paint is faded but that doesn't effect a video game. 1600 cc motor that just won't stop.
Thank you, Norm! But remember: She wouldn't have won without you!!! lol ;D
Entropy... if it's ok go ahead and submit. Like Norm said, her paint is faded... but her interior's fair. ;)
