Title: carburator
Post by: Honchoman on April 14, 2005, 09:00:19 PM
my 74 2.0 4speed has the original carb (2bbl). i was looking at it last night, and noticed something.   it seems that when the throttle is opened, only the drivers side butterfly opens. is it supposed to be like that?

someone let me know before i make it so both butterflies open at the same time, and possibly ruin the engine   (i think i can do it with a spring)

Thanks!!!

hmmmm. my uncle had a camaro with a holley double-pumper that he rigged so all four barrels would open at the same time ( he he he that thing screamed). do you think a pinto 2.0 can handle that much gas?

Hey honchoman,
I KNOW my 10.5to 1 cr Purple Pinto can handel all four barrels that are manually opened.
I used a machine screw and some small washers that could be infinately adjustable.
And like your uncles Camero It screamed. Well untill I sheared the flywheel bolts off.
The Holley 5200 is like a 4 barrel cut in 1/2!!!!!
