This morning my Dad called me at work so I answered the phone. Since he is going with me I thought something was wrong since he never calls at work. Anyways, he got a call from my uncle that was around Dayton, Ohio who told my Dad he saw somewhere around 30 Pintos on the road & a couple broken down on the side of the road. Sounds like it is going well & hope the ones on the side of the road got going alright.
I still think it's neat what is going on & can't wait to get to Carlisle tomorrow morning for the Pinto 40th. Dad wants to pace the car & give her a rest. I don't blame him since she has a bad track record lol.
I'd give just about anything to be able to go, or at least to see it...
You can see it (thanks to Joe).

The first of each day tends to be the best.
We had only two issues on the entire trip and they were within the same hour. Nothing that stopped or slowed us down too much. The first was a fan belt in a small group of us that was five minutes ahead. by the time we reached them they were closing the hood and moving on (one down) the second was a timing belt that broke. The car was on the trailer and moving within 7 minutes thanks to our expert support crew. We carried that one for a day and they just changed the belt on the Carlisle fairgrounds, so he is back up and running. So we are better than good, we are here and ready to have fun.
:happy_bday:
Do we have a great team or what!? ;D
I might need someone on my car if that driver side balljoint fails the rest of the way lol. It is rattling so bad since the boot burst. Oh well, as long as that & the exhaust holds up I will be happy.
Matt which ball joints going out ? Fred :-\
matt where are the pics of Harold II?
Fred, the driver lower ball joint is going out. Hopefully it will make the trip home, so I can get a new one & replace it. As for the pics, with all the insanity of the balljoint & exhaust I completely forgot about it. Just for you guys I took one just now. Here she is!
how much was that matt? and it looks great
Thanks! It cost me about $1000.00 at Maaco, & that included the body work. I did get a couple rock chips but I guess that is expected when you are driving on the road lol.
It's beautiful! Looks new again! :D :D :D
Thanks Dave, she feels like a new car.. Well a new car less the rust & worn front end lol. Now that I got the body all tackled that is the next part, so i can keep her on the road.
