Title: Pinto production #1?
Post by: flash041 on May 18, 2011, 08:16:55 PM
Mabe I heard it wrong , but some where I heard some one say that The Pinto had the highest production numbers of any car in the 70's. Does any one know this to be trure? If so is there a web site that states this?

Pinto production started at 352k in 1971, ramped up to 544 in 1974 then fell like a rock to 233k for 1975, total production = 3.1 million.
You would need to compare the Pinto to other popular cars in the 70's.
Pinto production exceeded Camaro production by significant numbers.
In 1978 Pinto production was 188k, Fairmont production was 458K.
