I have my engine (1977 2.3 Ford Pinto)almost completely assembled, when I started the crankshaft pulley bolt into the crank (by hand) it would not go very far in before it stopped
bolt passage way for crankshaft pully bolt threads are gualed -question what size are the threads and what size tap do I need to use to rethread/retap for crankshaft pulley bolt????
Thanks in advance

Do you have a gauge to measure threads? Also you can take your crank bolt to your local hardware store and find a nut that fits the threads and then buy the appropriate tap.
Its a M-14 which is the same as the oil pan drain plug and the spark plugs.
thanks for the information, I got it squared away (TAP) and it is okay now. Thanks again!
