Title: New gauge panel setup for Pintos
Post by: Pangra74 on May 10, 2011, 11:31:11 PM
Hey everyone,

I just converted my little Pinto console into a custom gauge holder. I wanted to have gauges for the Stampede drive. If anyone would like a copy of the template, let me know and I will send a pdf of it. Check out the pics. I think it almost looks like a factory installation. Goes in the car tomorrow. There's still room in the front for a phone or small stuff. I also added a retro car stereo and will be putting in a small tach.

John,

Sent you the template with pics and dimensions. I had to hog out the inside of the console a little to get them in because of their brackets, but if you space the gauges a little closer together you may avoid having to do that. If you make one, send me a pic.

Dang joe. Thats freekin neat. Good job. I just mounted mine on the left side of that same console, but i think now im going to re-do it. I have the oil, water, and amp gauge there, but i also have a boost and air/fuel gauge that i need to mount. This is a great idea. Thanks. kenny

Here's a pic of the back of the console where you can see how I had to hog out the inside.

Here is the finished product, a little blurry. they are pretty easy to read from the driver's position. Looking forward to seeing how they look in the dark.

Very cool, 2 thumbs up in my book.

I like the "industrial" look to it, kinda reminds me of the old bomber set-ups.
