It doesn't work for me since no police force would have used a Pinto.
What do you think?

Obviously it's totally unrealistic and impractical. But very, very well done. A great car, gotta like it! Talk about attracting attention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think it would look better with modern lights and a crapload of antenna's on it...but thats my opinion since thats the way they look around here lol.
The Postal Service has a fleet of 1980 Pinto Hatchbacks (I had 3, I have one left) and when they retired them they gave some to a town in Virginia of North Carolina I don't remember which and they used them as Police Cars for parking meter enforcements. I wish I could remember the town. The article was in Postal Life magazine which I used to get when I worked for the PO.
I kinda dig it. Could use better rims. I dont care for the seats. Should have been black ones. But it has a more timely appearance otherwise. Would have been cooler to see a real intercepter in it! Overall I say a 7 out of 10.
Pinto's were used for parking meter enforcement here in Pittsburgh Pa in the 70's.
The reason I recall this - while on the 3-11 shift @ the garage - 2 guys got into one to take & get their 'lunch' - only to discover less than a block away that the rad. was out for repair & now the trans. fluid was on the st. & no longer in the trans. We sure had 'fun' with that one.
I am at the Jefferson Car Show and Swap Meet in Jefferson Wisconsin... and the Pinto Police car is here! Ill take a pic of it later. I also want to talk to the owner to se if he wants to be in the Monona Memorial Day Parade with me.
Heh its no more unrealistic then a tubbed out Camaro police car or a Vega police car. Both of which Ive seen. Id have one too but i got told by the cops it could never hit the road here due to its impostering a police officer or some crap!
Well, obviously not authentic (and not purported to be) but I think it's kind of neat. At $5100, I'd say it's a steal!
Dwayne
I went to look for it , but could not find it.Mabe he sold it. I heard he was asking $3850
;D

I stopped by the swap space of the guy that had the car for sal this morning. He sold the car to a guy named Al , who lives in Milwaukee WI,yesterday for 3,500.The owner saved the car from the crusher and put a 1980 Thunderbird Running gear in it.He used it mostly for parades . I hope to meet the new owner this morning.Mabe I can talk him to going on the Stampede with us!
OK so lets contact Al! Can you find out if we can corral him for the Stampede. Lots of potential in that ride, could be an interesting parade piece.
I hope he stops by my space today. Ill let you know when I get in contact with him.
