Title: 2.3 to 2.0 alignment dowl
Post by: prrii on April 08, 2005, 07:44:56 PM
anyone know where to find these bits?  got the 2.3 bellhousing and it lines up well, unfortunately the alignment dowl's are different sizes.....  someone mentioned offset dowl?  Haven't had much luck finding them so far.  How about a dowl that is 2 different sizes, looks like the holes have the same center, just different outside diameters

thanks again!

If you can't find any stepped dowels you can have the dowel holes drilled to 39/64.Thet should be done on a mill to keep the alignment right.Curtis

I used a "tube" with the proper OD of the bell and the proper ( or real close to) the proper ID of the dowl.

If you can get the 2.3 dowels out of the block you can have them machined down to the 2.0L diameter.  Thats what I did and it worked fine.
