Post by: Pup70 on April 10, 2011, 04:48:18 PM
I have a 77 cruiser that i rebuilt and modded the motor a little ive hooked up with a shop out of Michigan who build 2.3 I got a cam a header and had the head decked 80 thousand and after timing it to the recommended degree it has no acceleration and tops out at 55 i have fooled with the timing again and again but with little change could this be a carb issue it is original.

thanx

What is the timing set at? How do the plugs look? How is the cam timing? Have you changed the fuel filter?

All is good to look at.

Then it could very well be time for a carb rebuild. Sounds like everything is where it should be. Where are the plugs gapped at?
