So when my 78's 2.3 was rebuilt, we installed a Crane Cams - Blue Racer camshaft. I'm wondering, if it has a higher lift than stock, if it would be beneficial (fuel mileage set aside) to put it back in?
I am currently running a roller cam setup from a 91 Mustang, but I'm wondering if I am missing out on anything by removing the old Blue Racer. I have no idea what model it is, or even if Blue Racer shafts were even offered with stock specifications.
I have seen numbers etched/scribed into the rear face (closest to the firewall) of cams. Since you have the Crane cam out, look it over for numbers. The linked site below may have the Crane number listed. As a backup, the cam could be installed in a head and measured for lift, duration, etc.
