Title: 1978, 302 install
Post by: dragpinto78 on April 05, 2005, 11:27:19 PM
hey everyone, I've used these boards for awhile for research to help me build my pinto.  Just thought I'd let everyone see the progress I've been making on it.  You probably don't know this but you've all been a lot of help with your excellent question posts, so thanks!  Here is the web address of my pinto page, www.geocities.com/dragpinto78 (http://www.geocities.com/dragpinto78)  ,  I kinda just slapped it together, it's isn't to pretty but gets the point across.  Hopefully I can buy a carb with my tax money and get it running soon.

Wow, the pinto looks pretty soild.  What are the specs on the 302?

Do you still have the '78 front end?  It looks like it might have been in better shape than mine.

The 302 is a seasoned block thats been bored, it has ford racing gt-40 aluminum SVO heads, comp cam .512 lift, arp rods, edelbrock performer rpm intake, ford racing underdrive pulleys, and I'm getting ready to buy a holley carb.  As for the front end, it was in great shape, except the plastic had started to turn brittle, as for the rest of the car it's in great shape. Not one rust spot anywhere on the car.  It was a good find, worth the 6 hr drive to get it.

Just bought a new carburetor through summit today for my car.  Its a holley 750 cfm double pumper.  When it comes in Willy's carb and dyno is going to rebuild it for me.  He build carbs for nascar, some of you out there might know who he is, he's well known on the  nascar scene.  He's a good friend of my uncle and his shop is located in the town I live in.  As soon as I get it put on the pinto I'll update my webpage with some pics.
