Title: c4 neutral switch
Post by: flash041 on March 18, 2011, 10:48:03 PM
I will be putting ny trans and engine back in next week! The last part I need to get is a new neutral safey switch for my c4. None of the parts stores list one for my car.Only the c3 is listed. I have seen several on line listed for earlier Mustangs. They have different plugs, but look the same. Will one of those work if I splice the wires into my harness? If so what year?

I have a thread about the C4 switch pin out for my 73 station wagon, not sure what the difference is from a 78 though, if any.

I did rebuild my switch and it is in flawless working condition again. Here is the section of my 73 wagon project log that starts the switch overhaul. The end of it it is the first post on page 9.

I have the pin out to internal contact relation either written down or posted somewhere. I will try to find it if you are interested.

Thank you Dave. I took mine apart and found the upper contact for the reverse lights was tarnished black.I sanded it till it was brass again.I just have to put it back together now.

Glad to be of help!

Believe it or not. One thing that really works wonders on tarnished copper it ketchup. Strange, but the results can be breath taking!

This is very true... it's because of the acidity.
