Title: Front shocks for Pintos...
Post by: vonkysmeed on March 16, 2011, 03:57:22 PM
Will front shocks for a 74 pinto work on a 73?  I know that some things changed on the front, but am hopeful that the shocks are interchangeable.

Thanks

According to Autozone they will. They gave the same number for both vehicles.

not trying to sound like a jerk, was hoping for someone with first hand knowledge.  If they are, it means that I may be able to use a coil over shock made for mustang II/pintos and properly spring my car at the same time.

They should. I have the same monroe shocks on both my 73 station wagon and my 78 sedan.

Rear shocks are another story, at least between station wagons and sedans/runabouts/hatchbacks. Station wagon shocks are a good deal longer (about two inches).
