I have used the search function, but have not seen much on thickness of material to be used.
OK, have done lots of research and have seen many ways to do this, I am looking at using rectangular tubing as I will not be reinstalling carpet and need to have some sort of finished look to it. I believe I am going to use rectangular tubing at 11 gauge, but want to get my final plan done with input from those who have done it first.
If you see an error on this, please speak up so that we can help others down the road. I will be posting pictures of my step by step (only have seen one person do this with 1/8" plate bent into a channel.
I am planning on having this done prior to Fabulous Fords along with some other work so that I can have something else done each year I am in the show.
Thank you for any input you provide.
Brian
Brian, are you doing this with the floor pan still in ? I'm building a 79 CW in a prostreet but I have cut out my floor pan so it may be different than your project. I have pictures if you feel they would help. Good luck Bud

It is a bit different from yours... My floor pan is still in place and I have a 6 point cage in. I will make it 8 point once I put the subframe in.

Here is a rough idea of what I am going to do. I have a 6 point roll bar that I will tie into the subframe and will drop 2 more points so that I can have an 8 point roll bar. I am looking to use 1.5 x 2.5 tubing as it should fit inside the original frame rails. I will need to cut my car open before I order the metal unless anyone has this wisdom.
Thanks
