Currently I am hoping on going. In wich case, we will be wanting to camp there for the weekend. We would be for a three day weekend. However, depending on the job if I get it, that may dismiss the plan? I certainly hope NOT though!

Someone would need to bring a generator for that. I was thinking the same thing if we had power on site
and someone mentioned/posted that Carlisle has free unsecured wi-fi for internet but I was wondering how I was going to recharge the battery on the laptop if there is no power on site....
Someone has to have/can bring a generator :lost:
i will have a generator in my car trailer if any 1 needs it while im there, ill need it for the drag strip friday nite.
NoKorKin

How many laps are you planning to make around the track at Indy? :surprised:
Dwayne
hey all " can,t join the stampede ,coming from the opposite way but hope to see you all at the camping site with my green wagon. (my first time there).
Well for us up here in the Great White North, it seems to be like the ultimate adventure to somehow get our car to an event like this one. Since mine is one of the first sold in Canada, it would be great to be there. I've had some issues with it lately that have me puzzled but am working on getting everything ready as soon as this %^@#$? -20-30 weather breaks.
That being said, I have not been on the site much as I find it very hard to navigate. I can't find how to upload pics and I've tried many times to find a way to change my profile picture. I'm not even sure that what I'm writing now will end up where I want it to go. Hopefully someone will see it and take pity on this old guy (61 yesterday).
Also, would like to camp out with the group but have an 800 mile drive on Thursday so will book a room for the first night, get organized and come to the fairgrounds in the morning. I WILL be towing as just two of us with no spares and little knowledge of what to do with them anyway and so need a spot for the Windstar and trailer at the campsite
if that's possible.
Guys, I'm willing to try but have never done this before and am scared s-----ss. Will keep you all posted as things either get better or worse in finding and fixing my problem. I'm sure it's just my lack of 1971 know-how that is messing with my mind. :lost:
Minto,
Get ahold of Carlisle Events, and ask them for help. They are more than happy to help with anything you might need. You should be able to get into the grounds any time of day or night. Ask for camping info and trailer parking avaibilty. Good luck, hoping to meet you soon.

Here is an e-mail I got from Rick at Carlisle regarding camping together.
Dave,
It's usually first come, first grab.
So, I would suggest that whoever gets here first, marks off an area big enough for all depending upon number of folks who purchase camping spots.
You can tape it or cone it. But you'll probably have to protect it until the late comers arrive and everyone gets here.
Hope that helps?
Rick

I am thinking of "Iron Horse, Born to lose" by Motorhead.
He rides a road, that don't have no end,
An open highway, without any bends,
Tramp and his stallion, alone in a dream,
Proud in his colours, as the chromium gleams,
On Iron Horse he flies, on Iron Horse he gladly dies,
Iron Horse his wife, Iron Horse his life

This sounds like a good plan.... Thursday when most Pintos and the Pinto Stampede arrives and is ready to head to the campgrounds we need to mark off spots for all that respond to the poll on top and save any stragglers a spot with the rest of the Pinto Nutz!
Thanks Dave for getting that advise from Rick
so far we have 7 with the Stampede on Thursady (78squirewagon has 2 spots) 4 arriving seperatly from the Stampede on Thursday and 2 for Friday.
total so far = 14 by my count!
It's A Pinto Party!
how many have single spots and how many have double spots?

78squirewagon is the only one I know of with 2 spots, I'm considering but likely not needed for me, might just be nice to have the extra room if needed ?
Depending on the weather that weekend, I might be willing to give up one of the spots :D .
i have 2 spots one for camper and 1 for tow vehicle and i will have my bobcat.

That's what I am planning on doing as well. If it rains, we (me, wife and dog) can sleep in the truck LOL!!!
