It only took about 2 and a half weeks to get here too!
i called the company and they said it was taking so long because they actually had to cut the wheels from a set of blanks due to the "strange bolt pattern" haha!
... and they had to be shipped half way across the Pacific :rolleye:
15x7 Vintage Ansen's!!!
anyhow, here they are!

how much were those?
the wheels were $136 apiece from discounttire.com
but i highly recommend these to solve most clearance issues;

the good thing is they are hubcentric (a VERY important vital feature)
i read somewhere the center bore for the pinto is 63.5mm, and these spacers have a 63.4mm centerbore.
i'm waiting for the spacers to ship out here before i test fit them :)
also, one will need to find longer wheel studs to accommodate the spacers and the wheels
ok update...
the hubcentric spacers do NOT fit on the standard pinto hub.
turns out, that .1mm difference is quite a hiccup, getting the center bore of the spacers machined down .1mm so they fit properly.
HOWEVER, the center bore on the wheels 72.56mm. so hubcentric rings are required.
RECAP;
Pinto Hub - 63.5mm
Hubcentric spacers center bore - 63.4mm
Hubcentric spacers outer bore - ? ? ? ?
Ansen Sprint Center Bore - 72.56mm
hope someone else benefits from my frustrating, time consuming finds
so. after much frustration and $$$ thrown away, i decided to just try and get the new wheels set up with tires.
so after careful measuring, measuring some more, and more measuring; i found a good size tire that fits on the 15x7 wheel in the rear wells with no rubbing whatsoever.
225/60R15's for the rear. still measuring front clearences

Wow they look really nice!!!!
Are you keeping the old wheels around at all?
well, i havent gotten rid of the old ones if thats what mean... but im not too sure what i'm going to do with them :/
why do you ask dave?
did you maybe want them? because shipping probably wouldnt be cheap, and i only have 2 of the 4 original centercaps...
however, i dont think i'd charge more than about 20-50$ per wheel if someone on this forum needs a set (that and shipping wouldnt be too cheap like i said)
Well I already have a set for my 78. I spent a good $60 repainting them to the original black color with silver "spokes" and "slots". The only problem I run into with them is the center caps. I lost one on the freeway last year, as the chrome cap flew off the metal clip!
I was wondering if you would be interested in selling the caps if they are in decent shape. I am still trying to figure a way of restoring them. I have three or four spare caps in storage but the red has faded/flaked away and they look mostly silver in the center.
I have four nice caps that I use on the car (I only use these wheels in the summer), but the one that I replaced has oxidized and dull chrome while the other three are nice and bright.
heres some pics of the 2 caps i have.
2 pics per cap

those ansens are AWESOME! they look great. it took me 6 years of searching to find a whole set of the "big A" or "appliance" mags with the staggered width for my 78. totally worth the wait though.
The caps chrome looks good, but looks like one of the caps red is starting to flake and fade. Paint still looks good though! If the wheels didn't have to be shipped I would gladly buy them off you to put on my station wagon!
well, i could sell ya the one cap and ship that for pretty cheap (little flat rate box)
and i could look into how much shipping would cost for the wheels for ya too (just have to give me some time to get tires on the new wheels for my Shelly :D )
PM me if you're interested
you would think that you ordered them right out of the 70s cuz they daintily fit the times with that style looks really good man
