Title: 2.8 Bronco II engine and transmission swap
Post by: lefty on February 17, 2011, 10:01:09 AM
I have a 1977 ford pinto panelwagon and right now I have a opportunity to pickup a 1988 Ford Bronco II 2.8 engine and a A4LD transmission, my question is this-is that combination easy to transplant into my 1997 Pinto Panelwagon? If so what will I need to make the swap. the 2.8 and the tranny have both recently been rebuilt and have about 20k on the rebuild.  The guys is selling the engine and transmission for $1200.00 do you guys consider that a fair price,it also includes the brain box,the harness and a new radiator ..

the pinto and bobcat came with a 2.8 v6 in them, but if you have ever seen one, its a tight fit, and not much room to work on them when you compare it tio the 2.3 or 2.0, but if thats the motor combo you want go for it!!!
