Title: I know our Pintos don't have a lot of polished surfaces
Post by: slowride on February 13, 2011, 11:44:11 AM
But even the little we have is a pain to keep in pristine shape.
Vintage Rod Components has developed the Show Finish polishing pad to   make detailing our Pintos easier while producing brilliant results. The   pad does not use any chemicals, and works on a variety of materials....   chrome, aluminum, stainless, gold, silver, even hard plastic lenses!
We'd like to offer PCCA members a free sample (while supplies last) before we announce it to the general public. Take a minute and check out the FAQ's (http://www.vintagerodcomponents.com/pad.html) to see what the pad can (and can't) do! Fill out and submit the sample request form and we'll get one headed your way.

It sounds wonderful, but I didn't see any sample request form!  Maybe I missed something, but I'd love to give the Show Finish polishing pad a try!

Thanks!  I knew I was missing something, there!  Got my request in.  Can't wait to try it.
Thanks,

I'm very interested in trying this out. I've tried a dozen different types of polish and buffing compounds to brighten up the bright work on my Pintos and nothing has worked thus far.

EVERYONE'S sample goes out tomorrow, so there'll be quite a few people with something to play with this weekend.
One thing to keep in mind. The pad does not eliminate the need for polish, it makes the polished finish BETTER. Surprisingly, it really makes chrome sparkle......

I know the weather has been crappy in many areas of the country so the samples may be sitting on the entry table waiting for the thaw.  :surprised: We sent an email out with a link to a short feedback form, so if you received a sample (and had a chance to play with it) but not a follow-up email, look for it in the dreaded "Trash" folder.
Thanks for the tremendous feedback from PCCA members! Retail packaging is being finished as we speak, and the Pad should be available in a week or so. We'll send out follow-up email soon with finished product details, pricing, and how to purchase.

Thanks Slowride, I'm much impressed with the pads you sent. Like you mentioned it is cold up here and hard to find car parts to test so been looking around the house and

aluminum toaster - I saw shine

old watch lenses - cleaned up minor scratches

silver jewlery and cup = AWESOME! UNBELIEVABLE!

plastic chrome - shiny

just to name a few, very impressed and I would buy this stuff, lot-o-uses

Glad you like it. I'm genuinely enthused about the Pad and it's very cool being able to offer something that actually works to other car people. In early testing, we realized one of the benefits to the Pad is that it DOES work on so many materials. My neighbor's wife got ahold of a sample and went ape on all their chrome faucets and fixtures. On my boats it removes water spots on most all metalic surfaces. One selling point is it will save people time, but you wind up looking for things to try it on.  :D

Thanks to all that have filled out the feedback form. One thing I have to stress is trying out the pad on an inconspicuous area first (especially on aluminum). The pad will produce different results on different alloys, so pick a hidden spot and try it there.
Probably the greatest results we've seen are on chrome wheels (chrome steel , plastic chrome, and chrome plated alloys). If you have a problem with brake dust buildup, this will amaze you.
