I had bought a Clymer repair manual for the pinto on Evil Bay. Spent slightly more for it then a chiltons because it was supposed to have a section for exclusive high performance. However, the fools sent me a Chiltons. I have contacted them. But, I am sure they would want me to cover return postage yada yada yada. So, Can any one tell me as far as the repair and trouble shooting sections compare between the two? I see its a tad more in depth then what mine is for the van or other later models I have had in the past. I was hoping to have the exclusive section to look through and maybe learn some tips etc. Does anyone have that manual? Thanks.
for performance go with peterson there are 2 different ones . i also have clymer , chiltons , haynes, ford factory manuel , and a couple others

I have a clymer manual. my dad bought it for me as a b-day present last year. There is a small performance section but not much that I found useful, as the parts recomended in the section are no longer available or hard to find.
I had wondered if the info in it would really be outdated or not. Thanks. Peterson hey. I will have to google it. I have occasional bursts of wanting to do the 2.3 turbo swap. But part of the reason for me buying the dang car was because the system is simple with very few vacuum lines etc. I get worn out when trying to figure out blown inline fuses or vacuum lines on my van! Too much electrical and vacuum in it for sure. So I am realistically wanting to be able to get bolt on performance items for it in the future. Probably rebuild the spare motor and put the items on it. Then Sometime when I am ready for repainting, switch engines at that time. Thanks.

Thanks. Ill be on the look out. I got the Clymer for $8 with shipping. Wait, I think I should say Chiltons.
The turbo section in the Clymer manual goes over building up a carbureted turbo setup, which from what I understand isn't very beneficial to performance vs. a fuel injected turbo.
If you have a spare 2.3, build it up for a turbo! Then you can have a fresh motor to work on and you can build it up exactly how you want it.
