brainstorming session here. Take a trip back in time to 72, what kind of accessories would you see in a car back then. what were the popular ones, what were the not so popular ones, what was available back then? which ones were universal and which ones were pinto specific?
wooden bead seat covers? bean bag ash trays? dash mounted compass?

dash mounted compass?
My 77 Red Runabout has one from the previous owner and I left it, I tell people it's "My 1970's GPS Unit"
Geez... I was BORN in '72, so my memory is foggy... lol
I know in the later '70s to early '80s there were those translucent rainbow and unicorn stickers you put on the window...remember those bright-colored poof-balls with sticky feet and google eyes? Don't forget those banner things you put at the top of your windshield (it's tinted like a visor) that said PINTO...don't forget the patchouli oil... :afro:
my 77 maverick had a fm converter so along those lines would be and extra 8track or cassett player
i do rember my parents having the bean bag ash tray. and a plastic jesus on the dash
phil
oh my god, remember the cassette adapter that plugged into the 8 track??
I worked in a gas station in the 60's, and we had RED Ball Service, I had to offer red foam balls for people to put on their radio antenna. I wonder if any are left? And how about the tiger tails Esso was giving away, I saw some people put them in their trunk lid so it looks as if a tiger was in there. Esso's motto was "Put a tiger in your tank". Wonderful memories!
I had a digital clock with the red numerals.I mounted it under the radio with double sided tape that came with it.
I had a magnetic thermometer on the dash, a leather lace-on steering wheel cover, and an aftermarket walnut shift knob on my '74 Pinto back when it was new.
Dwayne
good one dwayne, forgot all about the lace on steering wheel covers
Here is an original 8-track player sitting in my Pinto that you could buy from Ford at the time...

a WINK mirror........
( hey Charles, how ya doin'?)
Ah yes, the foot pedals! I had one in the 80's on my old dastun Z pickup! What a blast that hunk of junk was! Was thrilling going around a curve and watching my gas tank pass me! ROFLMBO!! It was that same week while I was going down a back road that my seat settled a few inches. LOL. Had to put boards on top of jacks to jack the body back up then zip screw boards to the back of the cab to hold it up onto the frame. LOL. I was just offered a 8 trak tonight with a couple hundred cassates with it. I passed. But you know, it would be a cool item to put into Dolly!

Hey, Steve, I found my original (dusty) Wink mirror from my 69 Montego, just bought the last new/old stock pair of Koni rear shocks (from the last Koni run, now have all 4 corners covered), roll cage is in, ordered glass-doors, bumpers, hood, and trunk, got my Lexan windows...LIFE IS BITCHIN and I'm going to KEEP ON TRUCKIN' til' Carlisle!

Remember the european style grill badges.
I'm still looking for a nice one of those badges to put on Brownie! :)
A local PCCA member has a wink mirror in his 74 Pinto, I love how it opens up blind spots!

Just thought of another one... locking gas caps! They were all the rage here, because gasoline theft was at an all-time high during the oil embargo!
