Its been 20 years since I drove a cruising wagon. I can't remember the portholes providing any extra visibility, but my memory is often wrong, LOL.
I prefer the look of a panel wagon without the portholes, and if I don't get an actual cruising wagon, I'd probably just sheet metal in the sides of a regular wagon.
So, do the portholes actually provide any visibility for lane changes and such, or do I remember correctly that all they do is make the car look "pretty", lol
The passenger side porthole helps a little bit w/ vision when backing up. Its not much use when changing lanes IMO. Thats the one thing I don't like about driving a CW- the passenger side mirror is real small, so you really have to be careful backing out of a parking space and doing a lane change to the right.
thanks lugnut, thats about how I remember it. I remember putting slightly larger mirrors on ours to help with the backing issue. was tough though finding ones big enough to help without being too big to still look good
maybe I'll just install a back up camera , lol
