Title: Mustang II Rack Compatible With Pinto?
Post by: dave1987 on January 21, 2011, 04:14:50 PM
I'm looking at this steering rack on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PINTO-BOBCAT-MUSTANG-MANUAL-RACK-PINION-W-TIE-ROD-END-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4833d96363QQitemZ310107530083QQptZVintageQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

I am needing to replace the inner and outer tie rod ends on my original rack, but I cannot locate replacement inner tie rod ends for the manual rack and pinion. This unit on ebay has both.

My question is, will it fit on my 78 Sedan without any modification to the cross member?

Be very carefull on E-Bay as there are many different racks and they all seem to be called "Mustang II". Measure your from tip to tip and make sure their the same. LOL
