I am trying to remove a side pop-out window from a part's wagon without breaking the hinge's.
Anyone have an easy way to remove the hinge's from the body of the wagon? They are riveted to the frame around the glass and go thru a rubber grommet in the body. Can I just cut the rubber around the hole? Does anyone have a picture of a side window with the hinges attached, out of the car, so I might see what I am dealing with? Thanks for any help, as I don't want to ruin them while getting them apart.

If I remember correctly these following pics were from a 75 or so wagon. Fred may remember , lol, it was the brown wagon from the desert!
Anyway, we cut the posts on the car to get the windows out in one piece without breaking the clips that hold the pop outs in. I can't help you one how to get them out with out cutting the post though. Figured I would share the pics so you can see what is on the inside.

The red arrow in the above pic points to the part that holds the clip to the metal of the car, on the inside of the post.
Another inside shot, but doesn't show to much!

Thanks Kim for the great pictures and info. From the looks of it, I should be able to make a thin tool to slide in and depress the clip. Hopefully it will depress and alow the rest to just slide out...I shall see ;D . Just keep facing north from where you are and if you happen to see a huge mushroom cloud from there, you will know it didn't work. I am about 190 miles north and believe you could possibly see it   . Thanks again.

If you cut out the post as shown in the pictures, maybe see if you can get the pin out. There is a plastic pin that keeps the metal frame in the plastic retainer. If you can get the pin out, the metal frame part may come out and then you will have a better chance to remove the retainer in one piece. I do not think there is a hole in the top to remove the pin though so it may be a little challenging.
I think it is a little more complicated than I thought. I tried making a tool that slipped between the body and the hinge hoping to depress the clip and it didn't work. I may use my Dremal and just see if I can cut the hole bigger and slip them out that way. Man, what a hassle just to remove the window. Another good Ford idea  Thanks for the tip!
