Title: 4 wheel disc brake plan/questions/comments
Post by: oldeguy on January 06, 2011, 09:49:59 AM
he is the plan for my 72 hatchback...11 inch front rotors, not sure if it will be Granda or something else with GM alum. Meter calipers from wilwood for the front...rear will be a narrowed 8.8 T/C disc brake unit utilizing the standard disc set up. the questions are...#1 is this a good plan? #2. will the standard 15/16 bore pinto master cylinder be OK to use? #3 will the brake balance front to rear be ok? any feedback will be welcome!

on my 79 turbo project im using the 8.8 from a 88 tbird you will need a different proportioning valve my rearend is only approx5/8 inch wider the pinto rear end
i have also looked into a kit by currie enterprises that lets you use the 8.8 disc brakes on an 8 inch rearend
