You know when you read an AD thats its got to be to good to be true, well I saw and Ad and went to look at the car today. My comment is
" LOL "
The Ad read : 1971 Pinto Hatch back, 2.3 with a 5 speed. All it needs is paint"
So I call and the guy answers in Spanish. I say , in my best Sanish, Hola, Im calling about the Pinto. He says, do you speak spanish and I say pequito.( So its already not going well ). He says, come down and look at the car. So, ok, Ill bite ( hoping its a 1/2 hatch car etc. )
The drive is about 40 miniuts but I figure it might be worth it. After driving around about 25 junkyards I finally find the right one.
HA HA, Well, here is what it was.........
First its a 1972 runabout. Next its a stock 2.0 with a 4 speed. Then its got spots of brown primer all over ( dont know what its hiding). Interior has nice seats and could be cleaned. No battery so dont even know if the engin works etc etc etc.
So the guy comes up and says, here is the Pinto. And I say, well yes it is but it is not a 72, 2.3 5 speed. He says, how do you know. So I splain it to him Lucy......
Anyway, the guy was asking $2,200 for it and I told him he would be lucky to get $1,200 for it, then left.
Any one around Chula Vista in San Diego need 72 parts? Some good ones there.
