I think I have finally ran out of excuses not to enter.
Good, hope to see you there.
Hi Brad: Fran and I are planning on making the show. Joe in Morgan Hill, CA
Joe, thats great news.
I would hope we could get 40 Pintos there this year...... ;D
I will be there...finally...my all stock '76 has been looking forward to this! She's sporting her new window sticker, and has lots of fresh parts after sitting for 25 years. Runs like new!
See you there!
Which car are you bringing Joe? Wagon?!?!
Hi Emily: It depends; I have the black V8 71 for sale. If it sells before the show, I'll bring the wagon. If not, I'll bring the 71. Glad to see you are making the show- see yah there......Joe
YAY!!! I got my FabFords flyer today... and on it FFF acknowledges the 40th anniversary of our Pinto! How cool is that!? ;D

If it sells, a stipulation of attending the show must be included.
Got my Flyer and am sending it back today. MYT XPLD will be there. May even have more work done. No promises on one color thru out the car though.
Hello fellow Pinto (and Bobcat) owners!
It's that time of year again; Fabulous Fords Forever time! This year, as you all know, is the 40th anniversary of the Ford Pinto and to commemorate this grand occasion the Ford Car Club Council as allowed us to display 10 Pintos/Bobcats in the invitation only area!
We have selected some cars to represent the Ford Pinto/Mercury Bobcat. We went for originality, period correctness, camp value and most importantly, the love that the car has been shown by their owners. I know we all love our cars, but the ones selected best represent the year they were built. We did not choose cars based on who has the most expensive paint job or the most horse power.
Here are the first and second choices. Please get back to me if you have been selected. If so, I need to know 100% yes or no that you will be there. That goes for the back ups as well. No cars are better than any one else's here.
And now, the list:

Option 1: Jeff Rosen – 71 Half Hatch Green
Option 2: Brian Shapen - 71 Half Hatch Red

As you can tell, there are some blanks. Please let me know if any of you have any suggestions. DO NOT POST THEM HERE! EMAIL ME! The final group will be selected by a man that attends all of the Ford Car Club Council Meetings and is the reason that we are so well loved. No its not me. If it was me I would've gotten into a fight with someone there by now.
Again, if you know of a good car that I may have forgotten, please email me and DO NOT POST ANYTHING ABOUT WHO SHOULD BE WHERE! Not to be...well... my usual self...but I do not want this thread to turn into discussion about this. Thanks you. My email is:

I spoke with Alberto yesterday, it seems I'm going to bring down the glass hatch 77 Starsky car. Can anyone email me a reg form?
Mailed my form off today. Not finished with out side and still have all interior to do. Fred :)
Idea: Once we identify the Pinto for each year, can we line them up in order at the show, from 1971 on up? Wouldn't that be great to be able to navigate from the beginning to the (sad) end? We could have signs printed with the years all in sequence...
Brad or Alberto any more info on this show such as Sears parking lot or maybe a place to park my hotel ? Fred :)
FYI - Website (http://fordcarclubs.org/ (http://fordcarclubs.org/)) has now been updated with registration form...and features 40th Anniversary Pinto on the very front page!
beicholz, that is the plan, 71 to 80.
I cannot get a '78 to the show guys. I can't even find a suitable '77 that I can fake into a '78. Does any one know of a car that we can use? Please email me at Pintopower@hotmail.com. This is important! Please email me soon guys! Thanks.

Fred, its the same deal as last year with the parking at Sears. As far as the Hotels, I cant tell you.
Ok, finally made my reservation for the Hotel today!! Got my mirror tag about a week ago. So I am all set. Even bought a new (used) truck so we don't have to borrow one! ;D
Any 1 need parts let me know, FREE deliver to Knott's. Fred :)

It is official, we have no '77 or '78 for the show in the Special Display area. I will try to get my sisters Runabout in but again, I still need ANOTHER a '77 or '78. Honestly, I will take anything at this point. Are there really none in California? Am I the only one who has cars that pass smog? Prove me wrong people! I dont care if the damn car doesn't run, if it's nice, I'll take it!

Hey alberto, My 77 v8 cruzin wagon passes smog and thats with cats thanks to to CA lowering the standards but I have solution for that. As far as getting a 77 for the corral I would have to not open the hood, find some stock wheels and plug one side of the exhaust! haha
For the people that ordered parts this is the car you are looking for, for some reason I bring a different car each year but it will most likely be the only Arizona plated car there with a MAN shifter. Fred :)
Ok, the Ghost is all washed and packed. Now just to fill up and wash the F350, then we can hook up the trailer and load the Ghost. They will sit like that till we leave on Sat. morning!! Oh, have to load some Pinto parts for some peeps in the truck too!
Other then that, I am ready to go. Just need to make it through 4 more days of work! :P LOL Thank goodness 2 of the days are only 4 hour work days!
Anybody in the area of Knott's have a weather report? I only got a 5 day forcast and it showed thunderstorms on Friday!! How does Sunday look??
I'm coming rain or shine, just hoping for shine! LOL
I wish you guys all the best this weekend. I wish I could be there! Have fun and let them know that Pinto's Rule! This is our party! :drunk: Take pictures, we want to see the Pinto's :happy_bday:
Weather percip keeps going up and down for Friday but Sunday still looks clear. I look 4 times a day. Been watching for a month. Fred :)

Thanks Fred!
I washed the Pinto today, and the weather forecast shows rain for Thurs. and Friday here. Bob wants to hook the Pinto (on trailer) to the truck and have it all ready to go on Wed. Now I have to try to talk him out of loading the Pinto until Friday night! And with that I will have to hope that the rain has stopped by then. LOL Hate to get ol' bumpy wet after just getting her washed! LOL It's bad enough that I am going to wash the truck tomorrow or Wed. Just for it to rain on it the next two days! Guess I can try to talk Bob into letting them both stay in the garage till Sat! LOL The whole set up will fit in the garage, just wont be able to do any work in there! LOL
According to weather.com Saturday there'll be scattered showers. Friday comes with all kindsof rain. o much for bathing Ruby that day... :cheesy_p:
I have been watching Sacramento unfort. you probably be riding with it. Been watching Yucaipa CA I need to be there most of the day working on an 80 wagon maybe in rain on Friday. Anyway I will keep you posted on latest weather update. Fred :)

In that case, I sure hope we fixed the leak on the truck! LOL It used to leak on the fuse panel. We had the kid re seal the windshield, but it hasn't rained since. Another reason I am going to go ahead and wash the truck anyway. Need to make sure we stopped the leak, if not, will have to try again before Sat!! Fuse panels and water makes truck do funny things!! LOL
I will bring a lot of extra boxes. I am packed on parts going to and from, 3 Pinto's coming back kinda has turned into a major mind project not to mention all the labor but hey I finally got my 73 title today with plate and had the wheels smokin into town to get some 115 av gas. Fred :)

It's too late to get the Pinto in the show, but I'll be there with my '68 Bronco. I want to stop by get some info on a 5 spd and 2300 installation.
See ya at the show.
Tom, if you can drive the Pinto there so Brad can count it as a show even if it's in parking lot outside. Fred :)
Kind of hard to drive a bronco and a Pinto at the same time ... but we would love to have you over to see our cars..
If you would like, please join us a Carrows, Sunday am at 8:00 ( in the back ). Just look for a guys wearing PCCA shirts.

I don't feel comfortable driving it not knowing what the water temp or oil pressure is. I don't trust the idiot lights. I want to get some local miles on it before any big trips. I'm coming from San Diego.

As far as thinning the heard, we are going to get rid the red 77? wagon that we got on the way back from Knotts last year. Then we plan on getting rid of, hold your breath, I know this is going to be a hard one, ready, Shaggy! We have decided that having 2 cruisen wagons already is enough. That and I wasn't to thrilled with Shaggy missing his vin sticker on the door frame. One of the reasons I never pushed to get him registered. Hubby garantees me we will get one of the other ( I prefer the orange) cruisen wagons running good enough for it to pass smog. So I am am going to let Shaggy go. I'm still not sure if I will rename another car Shaggy or not. After all, I have the plates for the name already! LOL Nellie Belle is holding those for me for now. LOL With the economy, I may let the plates go though. Just depends on how our finances do in the future. I may let alot of my plates go. I have 7 vehicles with personalized plates. That would save at least 100 bucks or so on registration each year, all together give or take!
Then the other car that I don't know for sure what we are doing with is the green wagon we got from the dessert. We already scrapped the white sedan we got from Modesto. That is why we are down to 13.
Oops, got carried away! LOL Got a bit off topic. See you all at Knotts, ok, back on topic! LOL

That would have been great if you could have! It would be so much easier to get parts off of cars that are whole, then to have to strip them down and mark the parts what year, and then find a place to put them all. That is my biggest down fall. I don't know what came off what on some of my stuff. Dummy me didn't mark things in the beginning. I do now though! LOL
That place has been rented out though. So even if we did have the money, it is to late! LOL
Hey everyone,
Sorry I have to misss the Knotts show this year. I have to concentrate on the Stampede to Carlisle and my son has a band concert in Reno this weekend anyway. Supposed to be snow in the Sierra's....fun. Got the Pintostampedel ive webcam dialed in so everyone can make sure I don't get broken down on the way to Denver!!

Sounds like he needs to caravan with you. If issues arise, I could help with my trailer after the show. It would take about 10 minutes to hook it up and get it moving. Not much of an issue since I already use it for my pinto when it is in storage.
AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGH! DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT! I've been caught up in other projects and *completely* forgot that this show was in April. I missed registration and everything else. Well, maybe I can bring my little V8 to the after show gathering if there is one.

Is there any Pinto Peeps living in the vicinity of the show? I was hoping for a crash pad so I could volunteer for the bag-stuffing and not have to make two trips to Buena Park this weekend. I'll buy a couple pizzas or KFC or...??? I'm not beringing the dog this time. ;D

Must had snowed here in Anaheim too last night. Fred ;D
Well another nice spring day- perfect for looking at cars and hanging out with the Pinto Peeps!
The weather was about as perfect as it could be. Warm, but not hot... and just enough of a breeze to keep it comfortable. I enjoyed the company of the Pinto community as well as people who were interested in Ruby's tiny engine, our upcoming trip to Pennsylvania, and even Ford Folks with non-Pintos, like the lady who had the Ford of Australia Falcons (both pick-up style and Mad Max-type) and a nice guy with his Hawaiian Mustang II. Most of all I loved the fellowship with Leonard, who taught me how to appreciate a roast beef and swiss cheese sandwich. Fred and Joy kept me laughing with their stories of being caught stealing a Pinto Street sign. Emily and I shared info on Pinto memorabilia (Dwayne, she LOVED that mini billboard! lol) Also, a huge thank you to Vonkysmeed for the cd of Pinto songs. You are awesome!!! Your little boy is so cute!
I want to apologize for not making it to the after-show dinner. I got hopelessly lost, and I had no one's phone number or directions to the restaurant. The running around gave me a headache, so I ended up heading back to the ranch. :(
All in all, a swell time was (I believe) had by all. Pictures to come soon. ;D
So you took the mini-billboard to Knotts with you? I suppose it would make for something interesting to display with Ruby. Are you bringing it to Carlisle?
Dwayne
That's the plan! That's Ruby in the picture, you know! I would be remiss in leaving it home. Do they let you display anything in your car at Carlisle?
I don't really know for sure, but I can't imagine anyone stopping you. It will be interesting to see the billboard... I only saw it in pictures, as I had it shipped directly to you from the seller.
Dwayne
Here's some pictures from today: Ruby's display. lol
Some out-of-this -world Pinto pix:
Hey, I like the cow seatcovers!!!
Some more notables... Bob Eicholz's vinyl-top begged to be touched by me... but I was good.
The Squire was gorgeous... but the emblems were missing. :-\
Don't you love Emily's board!?
Here's the also-rans. The pink T-bird was pulled over by CHP as I was headed home. :P
This gold Mustang looks like the one I keep seeing on episodes of Adam-12! lol

phil
I have seen the models on the engines and the books on the seats. I don't think it is a problem to display that stuff. If you are concerned, call Carlisle events for a confirmation. I am sure you can put it out around the car at least. I have seen boards describing what is in the cars, and I myself used to have windshield displays and a book of what was doen to the car and no one told me to get rid of it.
:welcome:
