My transmission mount is SHOT! I bought a new one, but it doesn't look anything like the one I pulled off. I verified with O'Relly's that it is the correct one and they said yes. I also found another website that offers Pinto parts and has a catalog. They list a transmission mount and show pictures of it. The picture is the same mount that I just received from O'Reilly's. I verified the trasmission code on the door of my car, and it shows to have the C4 in it. Can someone email me directly so I show you pictures of what I have. I need to know what kind of mount I have. Something doesn't make sense to me.

Just pulled this off a C-4. Fred :)
Fred, that is the new mount I have, and the mount that EVERY book calls for. That is not the mount that is on my car. I can't post pictures so you have to email me so I can send some pictures of the mount that I have on my '74. The car says a C4 came stock, but now I am wondering if my tranny is NOT a C4.
Picture 1 + 2 is C-3 mount is same as C-4. Pic 3 is C-4. Another way to tell apart is C-3 has 13 pan bolts. C-4 has 11 bolts. Fred :)
The transmission mounts are the same for manual vs. automatic cars. The cross members are also all the same, the only difference is the bracket used to bolt it to the transmission itself.
The two bolts that mount on the cross member do match up to the new part. The part of the mount that bolts to my transmission is completely different. My mount uses to bolts about 8" appart that are directly upside down on the transmission.
Apparently I am not a total registered member on here so I can only post text, not pictures. At least that is what I understand. That is why I can only email pictures to someone, and not post them here. I can't even post picture in the members gallery.
Sounds like you have a different style of transmission...something for a bigger car. If I had my extra C4 for my drag car I would take a pic. Is this the type you have??
