I made the trip to Columbus yesterday to go to the Ford Superswap. I was hoping to find lots of cars in the corral for a good photo feature, or maybe to catch an unsuspecting Pinto or Bobcat lurking. I saw PostalPony's two cars there, but nothing else. I hate to admit it, but I'm growing very tired of going to shows hoping to find anything for my cars, and running into the same stuff time after time. I could rebuild any Mustang ever made, as long as it wasn't a Mustang II, from a paint chip with all the vendors there for Mustangs. Almost as bad for T-Birds. I found one Pinto emblem there. I admit I didn't do a shockingly thorough search, but jeez. I asked the guy what he wanted for it, he said, "Seventy-five." I leaned in and asked, "Dollars?" "Plus tax" was his reply and I was gone. I bought one last year for $5.
I'm beginning to think we need to organize our own swap meet somewhere. Bring our cars, our spare parts, line up a few vendors and maybe we'll have something worth going to for once. Any thoughts? Cause I'm not going back to Columbus, it's just a waste of my time and gas.
postalpony got one pinto harley had his 74 pinto jn the car corol for sale there was a 80 crusian wagon there as well
wemt on sunday got there at 1:30 and everyone was gone or packing up there truck, good thing scotts was next door!!

The old man---Postalpony
There were a pair of fiberglass doors in the Ag-Hort building.I was there all weekend and no one came to say hi.I feel very neglected[not].We had a good turnout this year. There just wasn't very many Pinto parts, mostly Mustang parts.
Matt I like your idea.So when and where.Don't hold back just tell us.Pleeeeease,I have a few parts to get rid of.
I went to the Columbus swap meet this weekend.I try to never miss that show.It is one of the best there is whether they have Pinto parts or not! Every other swap meet I attend, you have to really look for ANYTHING FORD PERIOD! Don't be frustrated when you don't find Pinto - parts, there are only a few of us that have any interest in them. Most people consider them throw-away cars......I found some cool stuff there that I will use on mine.We also stopped at Jegs on the way out and I spent WAY TOO MUCH MONEY in there! Nice new polished intake for my 80! There is even a company with a catalog specifically for Pintos now, couldn't say that a few years ago.We are about to have a B-Day party @ the Carlisle All-Ford Nationals.....life is GOOD friends :) PostalPony always good to see ya...sorry I didn't see the other guys.I really like that 74' Pinto that was for sale,it reminds me of my first car!
I saw Postals' Pinto outside the building, and Harleys' little blue in the corral. I actually saw the fiberglass doors as well, but unfortunately I didn't catch anything else and I didn't recognize any of the guys there, sorry, my fault. However, if we could generate a bit of interest maybe we could do something on our own. I don't know if there would be enough interest from the Pinto folks alone to sustain something, but maybe if we snuck in the Mustang II crowd and the Maverick folks we might be able to get somewhere. I'd even extend an invitation to other 70's era subcompact groups if it would help out. I know the guy who sells new body parts for Pintos, he's not far from my house. That would be a vendor who could generate some interest, same with Steele and maybe some tire folks. Who knows what might happen? We could probably even put together a car corral of our own.
