 Well my clutch is squealing again,I had it adjusted six months ago maybe,and now everyone is saying they want $60 or $75 to adjust it one place said $75 another said it could be $150. As far as Im concerned places are going nuts. So I tried to do it myself because I have done it before.

The problem Im having is,when I get the metal locknut loosened enough,the adjuster nut wont come out of the bellhousing far enough so I can turn it. The cable or the release lever wont let it move that far.I tried pushing the release lever with my hand theres no way it will move that way.I tried a big screw driver,I just cant get it o move.The car is shifting fine,but it needs a little freeplay. The squealing is getting more constant,still intermittent though. I also found if I put my foot under the clutch pedal and lift it up a little as Im coasting in gear,it will make it quit squealing. It gets worse when I first touch the pedal to push it in.

Can anyone help me figure out why I cant get the adjuster nut to pull out from the bellhousing? Maybe I could have someone press the pedal in once the locknut is loosened?

The later model cables have a flange on adjuster nut that sits in the fork and that is why you can not turn it, I use a cum along to release clutch by pulling fork forward then you can adjust nut with slack in cable.  Fred   :)

Thanks Fred I always just pulled it away by hand but I guess I could try something like that. I dont have a come along or know how to use one,are they expensive?

Ok I see now,I did use one before. What do you thinbk about having someone press the pedal and sticking something in behind the release lever?
