There's quite a number of guys who have done it. What questions do you have?

what oil pan do i need? i heard that if you take the (not sure which) side motor mount and turn it over, the 302 bolts up to them. true? will the C4 or AOD fit? how much do you have to modify the core support? what is the best wat to do frame connectors to handle the added power? and i have heard some people talk about the added weight, all the info i have found says the 302 is only 150 pounds heavier than the 2.3. what would be the best rear end to use?

WTR 70,

I sent you an e-mail with what you will basically need. Start with a Mustang II donor car (oil pan, c-4 with the smaller bell housing, motor mounts, driveshaft, and possibly the 8" rear) Be prepared to get creative.
http://www.pintostampede.com/Norm's%20Pinto.htm (http://www.pintostampede.com/Norm's%20Pinto.htm) Here's a few pictures of mine, the aluminum top end reduced alot of weight and the Griffin custom radiator fit well enough. (the mustang II radiator hung 4" lower than the valance)
Good luck and e-mail me back if I can help more I will.

Just sold one about 4 weeks ago. Someone on here might have one and you can try Ebay as well.

What are the pans worth? I know of a yard near me that has a complete mustang II v8. Wonderind if I should get the mounts and the oil pan and all that off it? Might be able to make a few bucks?

If you can get a complete Mustang II V-8 with mounts you really should do it. The mounts are getting hard to find in decent shape but there are a few rebuild options for them. I sold the pan for $150 shipped and that was with the oil pump and pickup tube. I've seen the engine mounts got for the same money that needed to be rebuilt. What are they asking for the complete engine and what kind of shape is it in??

I think the engine is garbage because there isn't a hood on the car and the carb is open to the rain. I guess I'm going to the yard this week to buy some parts! The exhaust manifolds worth anything?

I have a oil pan I would be willing to let go,also a pair of frame & motor mounts. I'm in need of info on a oil pan that will allow me to drop a 351w down & back, using motor plates on my 79 . thanks
