Greetings from St. Louis, Missouri. I recently purchased a 1980 Ford Pinto Wagon Pony also with markings " Steel Stallion". I have never seen this model Pinto before. I was finishing a job in Bellville IL when I found this wagon Ford Sale in a private driveway. The body was straight with some rust on the front floor pans. The interior was in poor shape as I later found out it had been sitting for over 10 years in a garage. The seller was asking $1,300 for it but apparently had not had many offers. I offered $500 to him and he took it immediately. It had not been retitled since 1986, after researching the title and history, the pinto was discovered to have 72,XXX original miles.
My first car was a 1977 Pinto wagon , probably the most dependable vehicle I ever owned that wasn't a pain in the butt to work on.
Congratulations on what appears to be a great find!
