Title: Completely Original 1974 Sedan
Post by: Original74 on August 23, 2003, 09:18:11 AM
I am the proud second owner of a 1974 Pinto Sedan. I have a passion for Pinto's that dates back to my early adulthood. I found this car in CA in 2002 and purchased it from the original owner of 28 years. It was garage kept and well maintained with only 44,000 original miles. I put countless hours of sweat equity into cleaning it up and literally have a 30 year old Pinto that looks like it might be a few years old. I challenge all Pinto fanatics to help me judge what I believe to be one of only a few remaining completely original Pinto's (in as good of shape) in the US. I welcome your replies and discussion. Many thanks. Dave

Do you win at local car shows?

Scott,
Thank you for taking the time to respond. My first car show was the largest in Tulsa, 1200 cars, and only 1 Pinto. I was in a class called "65 and Up Restored/Original" so of course a frame-off restoration '66 Mustang beat me out. But I had a blast. I got out of that show exactly what I wanted, to talk to the public about their Pinto story, because everyone has one! My second show was the 29th Annual Ford Performance and Shelby Meet (an all Ford show). I placed runner-up in my class, this time "70 and Up Special Interest"
I need to hop into your Car Show section of this site and do a little posting. Once again, great site!
