Title: Hatchback trailer
Post by: 78squirewagon on October 16, 2010, 03:14:15 PM
Just a couple of pictures of a 72 hatchback that will be made into a SMALL trailer. The motor was junk and it had other issues so no nice cars were destroyed. I saved the interior plus the radio delete fender as well as everything else that could be saved. The front end is going on a street rod (not mine, the person I got the "parts" from
I will box the open area in with square tubing and put some sheet metal over top. The gas tank will be removed and the spare tire will be moved to the front on the tounge (?)  The spare tire well will become a hiding spot for things with a locked door.
It may not look like much now but hopefully by the summer, it will be ready for the road

Thanks. It's not very big but you can haul a couple of chairs and a cooler around it at car shows plus you are saving at least parts of an otherwise junk car from the crusher. I want to get the front end of one next and do the same thing. Cut it even with the windshild post/door mount, box the area from the dash to the firewall in (storage compartment) and go from there. Of course the engine would be pulled. The headlights become the taillights with red bulbs. You can hide the hood release behind the locked compartment (area between dash and firewall).
